Fundraiser for Rhyne Taylor and Family

Rhyne TaylorRhyne Taylor, an 11 year old softball player at Willards Little League, was diagnosed with a brain tumor on April 16th.  The inoperable tumor is located near her pituitary gland and is sitting on her optical nerves. So far, Rhyne has undergone multiple surgeries at John Hopkins, to help relieve the pressure the tumor is currently causing. Despite having severe headaches, nausea and now vision problems, Rhyne is in better spirits and is starting to become more mobile.

In a few weeks, Rhyne and her family will make trips back to Hopkins to begin chemotherapy treatments with hopes of reducing the size and effects of the tumor.

Willards Little League is asking for your help by participating in a Fund Raiser for Rhyne and her family. We are in need of items that can be auctioned off during our Hitting Derby event on May 8th and 9th. Items can be anything; gift certificates, memorabilia, tickets, clothing, baskets, etc.  It also goes without saying that we need you to participate in the auction!

In addition to the Silent Auction, Cub Scouts from Pack 834 will be onsite selling baked goods and treats.  Our league will also be selling tickets for chicken platters (chicken, baked beans, slaw and a roll) to benefit Rhyne.  Look for these items during our hitting derby!

Willards Little League is more than baseball and softball. We are a community and a family. I know we can come together to (at a minimum) help offset the loss of work and travel expenses the family is having to face.
