2015 Orioles Game – UPDATED

Update 8:45pm:
After working with the Orioles ticketing office, we have been given an alternate game date of Sunday May 17th. In order to go to this game, we need your tickets back in our possession by this Saturday! If we don’t receive your tickets back – or if you would prefer to go on a different date, you will be on your own to exchange the tickets for face value to a different game.

Shannon Tatum and/or Bill Ritz will be at the fields each night this week to collect tickets. If you already know that you won’t be able to attend on the 17th and are going to exchange them yourself, PLEASE let us know so that we don’t need to chase you down!

Logistically, this is a nightmare for us, so any help you can provide by not waiting to the last minute would be appreciated.

UPDATE 3:10pm:  The Orioles just announced that this weekend’s game will not be played in Baltimore, but will be relocated to Tropicana Field. Before exchanging any tickets, please let us get in touch with the Orioles organization to see if we can reschedule for a future Sunday.
Our annual Little League Day at Oriole Park is scheduled for this Sunday, May 3rd.  Many of you have questions about the game with respect to the current turmoil and unrest being experienced in Baltimore City.  As you’ve seen on TV and read in the news, in addition to many peaceful protesters, there have also been many demonstrations that have involved property damage, individual harm and outright violence.

As a League, we want our players and their families to be safe.  Attending Sunday’s game will be a decision that you and your family will need to make on your own.  We have reached out to the Oriole ticket team and they reported that this past Sunday’s Little League day was a huge success with no incidents to report.  In addition, they said that at this time, the game and all pre-game events were still on as scheduled for our game.  Obviously, since our conversation yesterday morning a lot has happened.  The representatives said that they would reach out to us directly should a change be warranted.

If you decide to make the trip, common sense and “street smarts” should obviously be used.
– Keep your children within eyesight at all times.
– Park close to the stadium
– If possible, avoid public forms of transportation around the city
– Consider enjoying dinner on your way home outside of the city
– Please refer to the paper you received with your tickets that specifies where we will meet and parade rules and guidelines we must follow

As the week progresses, we should have a clearer picture as to the state of the city and status of the game.  It is our hope that the violence and anarchy will be quickly brought to an end, and we’ll have a safe and enjoyable time during the game.

Look for more updates here towards the end of the week.
